Purpose

This activity helps to develop pre-writing skills.

Butcher Paper, Construction Paper, Finger Paint, Stencils

Bilateral Hand Use, Crossing Midline, Eye-Hand Coordination, Pre writing, Tripod Grasp, and Visual Motor

Description

Provide the child with different stencils and have him/her trace inside or outside the stencil. The child can also finger-paint inside these stencils.

For a child that might have difficulties with bilateral use of hands you may want to tape the stencil on the surface the child works on.
